Solutions: For Link Resolvers: Image-based Linking

Eliminate the problem of multiple clicks and improve the user experience through image-based linking. A “Full Text” link is only shown when the user is entitled to the full article. The resolvers’ links appear in the Scopus results list, abstract and references.

This technology is non-proprietary, so any link resolver can be set up to utilize this innovative integration method.

How Image-based Linking Works

1. Scopus checks that the required metadata (ISSN, etc.) are available. Then a request is sent to the link resolver to check if the institute is entitled to the full text.

2. Whilst loading, is displayed.

3. If entitled, the link resolver will return a "Full Text" image. If not entitled, the link resolver will hide the image. Click on the magnifying glass for a larger image:

4. When "Full Text" is clicked, a request is sent to the link
resolver to access the article.
