Letter from the Editor | Neils Weertman on the new Citation Tracker | Confessions of a user | Top Tracking Tips | Events Calendar Letter from the EditorDear librarians, Welcome to the first edition of insideScopus, a customer magazine designed to give you an inside look at what’s new from Scopus and more importantly, to hear what other librarians and researchers think. This first issue coincides with the launch of an exciting new feature on Scopus, which represents our commitment to simplifying the literature-research process. The new Scopus Citation Tracker was launched officially at the American Library Association Midwinter meeting in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday 21 st January 2006. Many of you joined the press conference to hear from the Scopus team and two respected members of the library and information science community: Tefko Saracevic of Rutgers University; and Richard Sweeney of the New Jersey Institute of Technology. There is more from them and their colleagues later in this issue. I am pleased to introduce the inaugural issue of insideScopus with such a significant announcement and I look forward to bringing more Scopus news to you during the course of 2006. I am keen to hear your views on Scopus and your ideas on how we can develop our communication with you. Please contact me via inside@scopus.com with your questions and suggestions.
