Scopus has started adding additional pre-1996 records
Scopus has begun an initiative to add millions of pre-1996 abstracts in chemistry, physics, mathematics and social sciences, to complement the 15 million backfile records in life sciences and medicine already in the database.
Latest enhancements
In December 2006 Scopus launched several important enhancements based on user feedback designed to consolidate Scopus’ superior alerting functionality and improving overall user search experience.
RSS and HTML Feeds Enhancements
• With the enhanced RSS Feeds
http://info.scopus.com/setup/promo/usertools/ functionality Scopus users can setup an RSS feed in just one click. From the Scopus RSS page users can now link directly to the HTML Feeds page without the need to copy / paste the RSS feed.
• Scopus HTML Feeds
http://info.scopus.com/htmlfeeds/ drive usage because they increase user awareness. They allow users to transform their favorite Scopus search result/RSS feed into an HTML version that can then be displayed on any website. Besides article title, a feed can now also display cited-by count, publication year, source title and the first 5 author names of the article. The resulting HTML feed can be customized to share the look and feel of the page where it is included. All article titles in such an HTML feed are linked back to Scopus. Scopus HTML feeds are available via http://feeds.scopus.com
Exact Author Searching
This feature provides an important shortcut for users seeking to quickly refine an author search. On the Author Search form, Author Selection page and Author Lookup pages a “show exact matches only” check box is displayed.
Search History
In response to customer feedback Scopus offers more links to Search History. The new links make it easier for users to refer back to their previous searches, enabling a more fluent and dynamic research process.
