From the Editor

On behalf of the entire Scopus Team I would like to welcome you to the latest edition of Inside Scopus. We are extremely pleased to have been involved with bringing about several major enhancements to Scopus within the last few months, among them the partnership between Scopus and ProQuest and the automatic generation of the h-index with graphic visualization of results.

All of our efforts continue to be focused on strengthening Scopus, not only as a research database, but also as a research performance analysis (RPM) tool. Just take a look at the “What’s New?” section of this issue for an overview of what’s coming up in the next Scopus release scheduled for later this fall and what’s in the pipeline.

In addition this issue features:

  • Recent content enhancements and plans for future expansion
  • Web 2.0 in action in Scopus
  • Stories about how Scopus is being used by your colleagues
  • Scopus in the information industry news

As always, I welcome your views on Scopus and your ideas on how we can continue to develop our communication with you. Please contact me via inside@scopus.com with your questions and suggestions.
