Welcome to the seventh issue of Inside Scopus

On behalf of the entire Scopus Team I would like to welcome you to the latest edition of Inside Scopus. This issue, introduced by Managing Director Academic & Government Products Jay Katzen, examines the exciting upcoming new enhancement to Scopus called the Affiliation Identifier.

As the world’s first database to offer this institutional matching functionality, Scopus takes the librarians and researchers to the next step in their workflow by saving countless hours of valuable research time with this unique tool that identifies and matches an institute with all its research output.

We also discuss a couple of productivity enhancing service to Scopus, Searching & Browsing of Cited References and Document Download Manager, and get up close with Dr. Mark Levy, from a UK-based general practitioner specializing in respiratory illnesses, and Tom Kohler of 3M, who discuss their experiences with Scopus and its rich content offering.

Designed to find the information scientists need, Scopus provides superior support of the literature research process through a user-centered design approach to develop content, enhance functionality and add more evaluation capabilities -
in order to support researchers' workflow. We continue to focus on enhancing Scopus to fully meet literature research and evaluation needs.

As always, I welcome your views on Scopus and your ideas on how we can continue to develop our communication with you. Please contact me via inside@scopus.com with your questions and suggestions.
